With the planning and preparation phase complete (essentially, book flights, buy an oversized map and show up at the arranged time), the dream team set off in search of the open highway. Just a few hurdles to overcome in the meantime, not least the mammoth flights plus stopover totalling 19 hours, and the customary ‘secondary interview’ welcome that malkie usually recieives from US immigration upon arrival, resulting in missed flight on more than one occasion. Thanks to Ryan’s Irish charm we sailed through the steely officials and arrived in Portland in time for BBQ ribs, surf ‘n’ turf and Oregon Pinot Noir.<\/p>\n
